Speaking in tongues

" So, what were you talking for so long ?!" exclaimed my German friend .
"Hmm.. well , we were just chatting" replied I haltingly because for a moment I myself didnt have a clue what I had spoke to my friend ( who incidentlaly turns out to be a girl ) for two hours over one of those chat portals during my labtime .
All the while Corby , yes thats what he is called ,was putting up with my jabberings ,hearing me speak a language that is riddled with hard consonants and tongue twisting pronunciations making it all cryptic to his ears. One cant even pronounce the language's name if you arent a speaker of it . Its called Tamizh ,oh yeah definitely you have pronounced it wrong .. So when our marathon chat was over , His curiosity must have got better of his ' German formality' and hence I think I was chanced upon the above question.

" well nothing as such, we Indians talk a lot generally " , I added .
"Hmm... what language were you speaking " He asked .
"mostly in our mother tongue, but often we jump into conversing in English"
" why do you ?" he asked a little perplexed .
"Maybe because we have our total education thought through English, Its almost our father tongue " ,I answered cheekily
"Thats bad " was his comment
And this took me by surprise , and that particular comment is the genesis of a thought flow that had ended up here as a blog..
He continued " Its okay to learn a new language but I personally think that in aspects such as education ones own language must be given the primary importance "
" English these days is storming into every language and the minions are unable to withstand the attack "
I was silenced for a moment for I realized thats what is exactly happening back home in my place in India. And Tamil can never be said to be a minion language
The medium of education is defacto English, all the Tamil medium schools are considered as a compromise in school education and is taken up only by the lower strata of our society...
The language is losing its shine . Bet if one of those ancients chance to come upon the present day usage they would swear that its not Tamil.... Such is the change that pure Tamil finds its place only in Film albums and songs .. and even those are now riddled with obscene caricatures of the language ... I am not saying this is all because English has taken prominence .. But yes it is one of the major factors .. what would be ideal is having our thought process in our tongue and knowing other languages as a skill.. rather than the present situation wherein our medium of expressing of thoughts is trained to be in a foreign tongue and our own language is taking the back seat .
I feel that by imbibing another language into our life we become a slave .. To the masters of the language.. we study their technology instead of forming our own .. Sadly I myself am no exception to this plight.. Not without a sense of irony that I notice that to express my anguish over lesser consideration of my mother tongue am using another tongue !!!!

The Beginning ...

Well, am here.. wanted to start a blog since long .. finally done it :)..
How did it all begin???.. bloggin wasnt my cup of tea . ah every Blogger says this at first .. but yes they have said it cos at first one doesnt have the big picture about blogging.. who gives a damn about what others think..? who cares about what one feels about something.. these were the prevelant questions that made me not think of blogging seriously ...
But then I realised , am missing out on something ...every mind is a thought churning factory , we generate thoughts at our whim.. discard it at the same amazing frequency.. some of those might be quite impressive, funny ,worth expressing .. many are just junks.. and in treating both of them equally means we dont value our thoughts.. thats unpardonable !! .. if we dont giv value to our cognisance then whats it worth.. so decided if I find myself having an opinion let me put it down .. and also get a feedback on it and just not sit over it believing its highly ridiculous or an axiom that's veracity is unquestionable ..
So Junta another mind is entering into the arena .. another set of rantings and ravings .. if not anything else it adds to the flavour of the blogging community ... No two minds are same .. everyone of us are same in the aspect that we are all different .. so then . taking leave , will get back soon with ...well something
